hi Honey.

My brother-in-law, Danny, texted me the above photo this morning with no words. It warmed my heart in a serious way. It's of my horse, Honey {at sunrise}, and she's pregnant too. We are expecting her foal in May.

We live about fifteen miles away from the property where our horses are, and where my brother-in-law lives with his kids {the cousins you hear so much about!}. I didn't grow up with horses and am just beginning to learn about them. I don't ride nearly as often as I'd like, but have always felt like I'd become close to them at some point in my life. It seems as if I'm always pregnant or have a young baby, and therefore spend more time looking at + brushing horses than actually learning how to ride them. I have found this frustrating over the past six years… I crave to be close the them, and Honey's baby may be the motivation I need to finally make it a priority.

With our new baby due in July, an exciting spring/summer awaits us. "Exciting" in the good ol' fashion family sense. I'm feeling a bit more grounded lately, and a little less like feeding my entrepreneurial bug. Though I'm certain it will be back, I'm enjoying the down time for now and hoping that I'm learning how to healthily exist with both - a happy family life while actively pursuing entrepreneurial growth. All you moms out there know that it isn't as easy as it sounds, and if you've got kids in school or beyond... you also know how fast it all goes. I feel like I'm beginning to get it, and suddenly, am not in such a big hurry.
